Grimaldo  -  Galisteo

20 km     4h + 20 min break

Up late - had a reservation for tonight and not that far to go - weather forecast not too good. So no need to make a special effort to be out early. We were off at 7h20 after all because we are in the habit now to wake up early.

Sky overcast; quite cold - can't estimate  the temperature. Anyway ideal walking weather and wonderfully varied path, sometimes difficult sometimes not - a lot of it through meadows. Grazing(?) country mostly - cows and sheep.

Arrived early as usual - just in time to find shelter in the bar where we are putting up for the night before a good shower which caught the group of Spaniards who are walking with Alfonso.

Lunch, siesta and walkabout  in blinding sunshine in this walled-in town. The ramparts are made of the stones from the river Jerte which flows at the foot of the hill Galisteo is built on - quite incredible - I do not think it comes out in the photo.

Oh, when we came up from our lunch to have our sieste the door of the third room of our floor opened: Anne-Rose and Rainer to whom we had said Good-Bye in Merida two(?) days ago. Very animated evening meal...

Debut assez tard ; On avait une réservation et ne petite distance à parcourir. La météo n'est pas bonne. Donc ce n'est pas la peine de faire un effort pour partir tôt
On est  quand même partis à 07H20 par habitude !!!
Le ciel était couvert, il faisait assez froid, je ne peux pas estimer la température. peu importe, c'était un temps idéal pour marcher et les sentiers étaient agréables et variés bien que parfois difficiles. On a traversé de nombreuse prairies, certainement des pâturages pour les chèvres et les vaches.
On est arrivés  de bonne heure comme toujours et juste à temps pour s'abriter d'une grosse averse dans le bar où on fait étape ce soir et ou on va dormir ; les espagnols qui cheminent avec Alfonso n'ont pas eu cette chance !!
Repas, sieste et ballade sous un soleil aveuglant dans cette ville fortifiée. Les remparts sont bâtis avec les pierres de la rivière Jerte qui coule au pied de la colline sur laquelle est bâtie Galisteo, je ne pense pas que cela rende bien sur la photo.
Oh, en revenant du repas pour faire la sieste, la porte de la troisième chambre s'est ouverte, c'etait Anne Rose et Rainer auxquels j'avis dis au-revoir il y a quelques jours à Merida. Repas très animé !!!!!
