Hello everybody!
Back at last! That is to say, my pack is packed, walk with Riton in the beautiful evening sun to ease the stress, early bed and early up tomorrow morning when Marie-Claude will take me to Guingamp train station. It will take 5 hours to La Rochelle, an hour to change at Rennes and an hour to change at Nantes.
I was beginning to settle back in - back into my usual daily routine, early morning walk, followed by a dip in the sea(15 degrees C), but with additional time spent on walking. My foot seems allright now - I say "seems" because now I am always conscious of this foot and apprehensive of what might befall me next. So I will stop thinking about it - I'll go as far as I can and if necessary stop again and take it up again next year. Voila!
All etappes down to the Spanish border have been fixed (shorter than before, I have to learn to walk more slowly which is quite difficult if you are used to a quick pace), reservations have been made. I appealed to all SNSM stations on my way for accommodation - at this time of the year hotels and camping grounds do not have any vacancies, or if they do, they are outlandishly expensive - have had a very positive echo - everybody has been most kind in promising to put me up. Even some of the camping personnel told me: we cannot take reservations for one night, simply show up and we will find a space for your tent somewhere. One owner of a small camping ground (20 places) even said: if necessary I will put you up in my own home!
So, everything looks fine, keep your fingers crossed!
